Placing Orders

Learn how to complete your purchase in the Cicero Marketplace.

Overview

The ordering process follows these steps:

  1. Add products to your cart
  2. Review your cart
  3. Proceed to checkout
  4. Select delivery options
  5. Choose shipping method
  6. Complete payment
  7. Receive confirmation

Adding Products to Cart

From Product Card

  1. Browse or search for products
  2. Click Add to Cart on the product card
  3. Select a supplier (if multiple available)
  4. Specify quantity
  5. Product is added to your cart

From Product Detail Page

  1. Open the product detail page
  2. View available suppliers and their prices
  3. Select your preferred supplier
  4. Adjust quantity using +/- buttons or input field
  5. Click Add to Cart

From Wishlist

  1. Navigate to your Wishlist
  2. Find the product you want to order
  3. Click Show Suppliers
  4. Choose supplier and quantity in the modal
  5. Product moves from wishlist to cart

Viewing Your Cart

Accessing Cart

  • Click the cart icon in the header
  • Navigate to My Cart in the menu
  • Cart shows total item count as a badge

Cart Page Layout

The cart page displays:

  • Active Cart Tab: Items ready for checkout
  • Saved for Later Tab: Items saved for future purchase

Cart Contents

Each cart item shows:

  • Product image and title
  • Selected supplier
  • Quantity controls
  • Price per unit
  • Total price
  • Remove option

Managing Cart Items

Adjusting Quantity

  • Use + and - buttons
  • Or type directly in the quantity field
  • Prices update automatically
  • Maximum quantity is 1000 per item

Removing Items

  • Click the remove/trash icon
  • Item is immediately removed
  • Or move to "Saved for Later"

Saving for Later

  1. Click Save for Later on an item
  2. Item moves to the Saved for Later tab
  3. Restore items to active cart when ready

Adding Notes

Some items allow special instructions:

  • Click to add a remark
  • Notes are visible to the supplier
  • Useful for special requirements

Cart Organization

Grouped by Supplier

Cart items are organized by supplier:

  • Each supplier section shows their logo and name
  • Items from the same supplier are grouped together
  • Shipping is calculated per supplier

VIP Pricing

If you have VIP status with a supplier:

  • VIP badge appears on applicable items
  • Discounted prices are shown
  • Original price appears with strikethrough

Proceeding to Checkout

Starting Checkout

  1. Review all items in your cart
  2. Verify quantities and suppliers
  3. Click Proceed to Checkout

Clinic Selection

If you have multiple clinics:

  1. Select the clinic for this order
  2. Each clinic has its own cart
  3. Orders are placed per clinic

Checkout Process

The checkout process has multiple steps:

Step 1: Order Review

Review your complete order:

  • All items grouped by supplier
  • Quantities and unit prices
  • VAT amounts
  • Subtotals per supplier
  • Grand total

Make any final adjustments:

  • Click Edit to return to cart
  • Verify everything is correct

Step 2: Delivery

Configure delivery options:

  • Confirm or update delivery address
  • Add special delivery instructions
  • Select delivery date preferences (if available)

Step 3: Shipping

Choose shipping method:

  • View available shipping options per supplier
  • Compare shipping costs and delivery times
  • Free shipping may be available for VIP customers

Step 4: Payment

Complete your order:

  • Review final totals including shipping
  • Select payment method
  • Confirm payment details
  • Submit your order

Order Confirmation

After placing your order:

Confirmation Page

  • Order number is displayed
  • Summary of items ordered
  • Estimated delivery dates
  • Supplier information

Email Confirmation

You receive an email with:

  • Order confirmation
  • Order details
  • Tracking information (when available)

What Happens Next

  1. Order Received: Suppliers receive your order
  2. Processing: Orders are prepared for shipment
  3. Shipped: Products are dispatched
  4. Delivered: Products arrive at your clinic
  5. Track Status: Monitor progress in Order History

Permissions Required

To place orders, you need the Edit Cart permission.

Without this permission:

  • You can browse products
  • You can add to wishlist (with Edit Wishlist permission)
  • You cannot add to cart or checkout
  • Checkout buttons will be disabled

Troubleshooting

Cannot Add to Cart

  • Check you have Edit Cart permission
  • Ensure you've selected a clinic context
  • Verify the product is in stock

Cannot Proceed to Checkout

  • Ensure cart is not empty
  • Check you have Edit Cart permission
  • Verify clinic is selected

Payment Issues

  • Confirm payment details are correct
  • Check with your payment provider
  • Contact support if issues persist
