Managing Products

Learn how to manage your product catalog as a supplier in the Cicero Marketplace.

Overview

The Products section allows you to manage your complete product catalog, including adding new products, setting prices, managing inventory, and organizing your offerings.


Accessing Products

From Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Products in the supplier sidebar
  2. View your complete product list
  3. Search and filter to find specific products

Product List

List View

The product list displays:

  • Product Image: Thumbnail
  • Product Title: Name and description
  • MPN: Manufacturer part number
  • Price: Current pricing
  • Stock Status: Availability indicator
  • Actions: Edit, view, manage

Search and Filter

Find products using:

  • Search Box: Search by name, MPN, or code
  • Filters: Filter by category, status, stock
  • Sorting: Sort by name, date, price

Adding Products

Add New Product

To add a new product:

  1. Click Add Product button
  2. Fill in product details
  3. Set pricing and availability
  4. Upload images
  5. Save the product

Product Information

Basic Details

  • Product title (multi-language support)
  • Description (multi-language support)
  • Manufacturer/brand
  • MPN (Manufacturer Part Number)
  • Category assignment

Media

  • Product images (multiple)
  • Main image selection
  • Image ordering

Pricing

  • Base price
  • Currency
  • VAT rate
  • Quantity discounts

Inventory

  • Stock quantity
  • Stock availability
  • Minimum order quantity

Editing Products

Accessing Edit Mode

  1. Find the product in your list
  2. Click Edit or the product row
  3. Make your changes
  4. Save updates

Editable Fields

You can update:

  • All product information
  • Pricing and discounts
  • Stock levels
  • Images and media
  • Category assignments

Pricing and Availability

Setting Prices

Configure pricing:

  • Base Price: Standard unit price
  • Currency: Price currency
  • VAT: Tax rate percentage

Quantity Discounts

Set up volume pricing:

  • Define quantity thresholds
  • Set discounted prices per tier
  • Encourage bulk purchases

Stock Management

Manage availability:

  • In Stock: Available quantity
  • Out of Stock: Zero availability
  • Low Stock: Below threshold warning

Bulk Upload

Import Products

For large catalogs:

  1. Navigate to Bulk Upload
  2. Download the template file
  3. Fill in product data
  4. Upload the completed file
  5. Review and confirm import

Template Format

The bulk upload template includes:

  • Product titles
  • Descriptions
  • MPNs
  • Prices
  • Stock quantities
  • Category codes

Validation

During upload:

  • Data is validated
  • Errors are highlighted
  • Preview before confirming
  • Partial imports supported

Product Statuses

Status Types

Products can have these statuses:

StatusDescription
ActiveVisible and available for purchase
DraftNot yet published
InactiveTemporarily hidden
Out of StockNo inventory available

Changing Status

  1. Open product edit page
  2. Change the status field
  3. Save changes
  4. Status updates immediately

Categories

Assigning Categories

Products should be assigned to categories:

  1. Edit the product
  2. Select applicable categories
  3. Products appear in category browsing
  4. Multiple categories supported

Category Hierarchy

Categories are organized hierarchically:

  • Main categories (Level 0)
  • Subcategories (Level 1, 2, 3)
  • Assign to the most specific level

Images

Adding Images

Upload product images:

  1. Click the image upload area
  2. Select image files
  3. Images are uploaded and processed
  4. Drag to reorder

Image Guidelines

For best results:

  • High resolution (minimum 800x800)
  • White or neutral background
  • Multiple angles
  • Clear product visibility

Main Image

  • First image is the main image
  • Drag to reorder and change main
  • Main image appears in listings

Export

Exporting Product Data

Export your catalog:

  1. Navigate to Products
  2. Click Export button
  3. Select export format
  4. Download the file

Export Formats

Available formats:

  • CSV for spreadsheets
  • Excel format

Export Contents

Includes:

  • All product details
  • Pricing information
  • Stock levels
  • Category assignments

Product management requires:

Product Information

  • Complete Details: Fill all relevant fields
  • Clear Descriptions: Helpful product descriptions
  • Accurate Pricing: Keep prices up to date
  • Quality Images: Multiple high-quality photos

Inventory Management

  • Regular Updates: Keep stock accurate
  • Low Stock Alerts: Monitor inventory levels
  • Timely Restocking: Avoid out-of-stock situations

Organization

  • Consistent Naming: Use clear product names
  • Proper Categories: Assign correct categories
  • Regular Review: Audit catalog periodically

Troubleshooting

Products Not Appearing

  • Check product status is Active
  • Verify stock is available
  • Ensure category assignment
  • Review pricing is set

Upload Errors

  • Check file format
  • Validate required fields
  • Review error messages
  • Correct and retry

Image Issues

  • Check file format (JPG, PNG)
  • Verify file size limits
  • Ensure proper resolution
